reinvention is the mother of necessity or the simplest way to be a dancehall diva.

seriously did i really abandon this blog for little over a year . Well even though I'm still just as busy i think its time to give it another shot. but this time around its not just going to be about fashion but whatever strikes my fancy at the moment. so hopefully this new easy breezy approach will be a major benefit to my psyche and post frequency.

so heres looking at a new random mishmash of info.

to the left to the left

I'm really not feeling this ad for sonia rykiel's h&m line . The lingerie is nice and the styling is alright, but i just feel the model selection could have been better. Please don't think that i hate lara stone ,im actually a big fan of her work but could they have just dyed in her eyebrows for this one shoot. Her blank brow works on the runway or in high fashion editorial but for mass market commercial work its a little sexy cro-magnon. Also Caroline trientini looks wonderful and its nice to see her actually posing but the cut and color of her hair screams, this is a slow month at vogue so just dye the girl's hair red and call it a day. she would have been smoldering and sexy if they had just kept her original hair color and bangs but curled her hair or done it in a soft wave. im only criticizing because i can imagine jane doe american walking in h&m and looking at that the ad thinking. why are they looking to the left and ,why are the sexy cromag poodles?

abbeyzilla roars

i should be studying for my finals but the victoria secret fashion show is really a lifetime more interesting. so did any one see abbey lee work it out on the runway im totally a fan now. usually i'm not a fan of her walk but seeing her cut lose and drag queen it up was fun. plus it was fun to see anja and sessilee with long hair ,its just so strange and commercial looking on them.

too big for my britches

im completly in love with sonny groo's idea of taking oversized pants and drapping them around your body. usually i try to avoid oversized anything to avoid looking mid 90's fubu thugish. but sonny's technique works for me because its cheap and adaptable to my mood or the moment. plus its a better option than having to go on an epic quest for harem pants or taking the time to diy a few more pair.

so i'm off to the local thrift store to raid their supply of extra large pants. the only problem is i'll look a little strange loaded down with clothes three times my size. which might lead to me having to tell some old woman i see you giving me the eye , don''t judge me its the holidays and i plan to eat.

what flavor kool-aid is this. o yeah o hell no!

whats happened to Marc Jacobs i used to love his clothes but now they leave me wondering what kool aid is everyone drinking. part of me wonders who let that out on the runway and the other half is torn because if it was in a neutral shade and made by a rei kawakubo i would totally be on the train to cuckoo town. maybe because its from marc and for louis vuittion i was expecting something innovative , Parisian ,and a little more downtown and less dior 1990 run through a Tokyo kaleidoscope.

tavtastic

it was  awesome seeing tavi in the style.com video for alexander wang, its great seeing young bloggers like her being recognized by vogue. hopefully one day tavi will be in a vogue or maybe teen vogue spread of her own. but  its funny when you think about it, shes been in both pop magazine and a form of vogue in that same month go tavi!

times are a changing

stam's new editorial for vs is amazing and the jewelry styling is aspirational , but lately my love for stam has wained. three years ago if someone told me their was a new ad or editorial featuring her i would have been ecstatic. however now i feel like I've seen it all and  to me she doesn't seem to pop .
when you consider that this season ever model is going through drastic changes to keep the industry interested why hasn't stam. true a few seasons back she did lighten her hair a shade, but i think she needs something drastic.  it will be hard to compete with the  ranyas, taos, cocos, duals, and  carolines of the industry with their changing looks .  so come on stam step it up go crazy shock the industry and play off those amazing grey eyes.
